Drumming and Dancing into your Heart

Our elders work to pass on the tradition of drumming and dancing to young people through the Tribe’s Drum and Dance group. Local teens asked elders to help them learn to drum and dance after they enjoyed doing so at the World Eskimo-Indian Olympics. Qutekcak’s diverse tribal membership is definitely reflected in its dance group with youth members from heritages throughout Alaska.

The group practices and performs regularly throughout the year so they are always learning new songs and more about their traditions.
